Monday August 13th

Slow start to the morning- but we are on vacation!  I got a 2 mile run in... it was a beautiful morning!

We brought the buckets over to Patty and Carls......She gave us some Alaskan Salmon and Halibut that Carl's son had caught...really big packages!!
Her gardens looked beautiful... not a weed in them and the tomato plants were huge!  Not as big as Beth's, but almost!
Carl has a big tiller and he said when we move up there he would till my gardens...can't wait..I already know where my vegetable garden is going to be!

We also got some corn and zucchini from them too!

When we got home Steve needed a nap before he started on the mower.. so we went to his Hammock - we both fit perfectly!  It was so relaxing!

I rested for 15 minutes or so and then came in and washed out some things..no dryer or clothes line so I hung them out on the spruce trees in back!

I tried some corn and it was very good!  Small ears ..Steve got up and started working on the mower... he was disconnecting the safety wires...he thinks that is causing the problem.

I read...sunny beautiful day!

Mid afternoon I heard what I thought was a 4 wheeler coming up the drive...I came outside and here it was Rocky on his Motorcycle..he had been to Iron River and thought he would stop to see if someone wanted to play bean toss... Love it!

Steve didn't want to play but I did... he beat me 21-7...He left to put the tar paper on the shed.

After cutting wires the mower still wouldn't start..the battery is only a year old so he didn't think the problem could be because of that but he figured we would get a new one  tomorrow on our way back from Madeline Island.

Steve suggested going for a swim..it did get hot out.. We left Murphy home this time... there were only 2 groups of people there...that is one thing about being there during the week..

When we got back I made an Orzo salad...I bought whole wheat Orzo at Connie's..didn't bring cooking instructions but I fixed it like I would pasta..and it was great...I added all the fresh veggies and then Italian dressing...very tasty!

Steve said he would give me lessons on bean toss since I need them...I didn't think I was that bad...it ticked me off... he spoiled the whole game for me now... I don't even want to play anymore.

I was pretty tired and went to bed at dusk..we did sit outside until then...heard the coyotes!
