July 13th Con't
When I returned from updating my phone Beth had already cut the hole in the floor..it wasn't that much to go through as Steve was sure there was..he always sways towards the pessimistic side.. wonder if that is environmental or genetic??
So on she progressed to reaching under the trailer to get the wire and put it through the hole in the floor...it was too small a space for her to crawl all the way underneath...
She went and shut the power at the Pedestal and then into the trailer and disconnected the cord and hooked up the permanent wiring.. she then went to the pedestal to get that wired in and Steve told her to be careful and watch out for the "live" wire...she smiled at him and said she would... I am glad she doesn't get defensive when he tells her electrical things that are obvious things an Electrician knows... I think she is a very self confident woman!
It makes me so nervous watching her working so close to a live wire..but I have to remind myself that she does know what she is doing . It took some elbow grease to dig down in the hard clay to get the conduit free and the wire in to that and then to fit the conduit back into the pedestal....phew... but after some cajoling it went in place..she put in the new socket...hooked her up and put everything back together ...flipped the switch and we had 30 amp power to the trailer!!
People say we are lucky to have an Electrician in the family...which we sure are but that doesn't mean we take advantage of her craft... we do pay her ...we would have to pay someone else and we greatly appreciate her...she does like to barter though!!
I got her a cold beer and brought out some snacks...she had gotten some red pepper Humus at Ehlers...it was great!
While sitting there Beth turned to me and quietly said "there's a deer"... I looked to where her head was nodding and sure enough just the head was peeking at us from the ravine.. all of a sudden it moved forward and walked along 30ft in front of us...grazing as it went...I hung on to Murphy ..turning his head towards me with my hand around his muzzle distracting him... the deer continued walking past us into the woods by the pedestal...it was so cool!!
Of course my camera and phone were inside...
I fixed BLT"s using my first ripe tomato from home!
Beth left around 8.
.we had filled the Sun Shower at the Artesian well and had it in the sun all day heating up it was hot! I thought Steve should try it out..he didn't want too but told me I could..
my idea was that it could be hung in the shower stall...but the shower nozzle holder wasn't strong enough to support it...Steve checked things out and thought the curtain rod would work ..but the handle woudn' fit over it...so he got a rope and tied it up..It did work but the shower nozzle was way too low... tomorrow we will look for a tree and try it outside... a sheltered spot of course..
