April 15, 2015
I could have gotten up an
hour earlier but with Danny sleeping on the couch I wanted to at least give him
a little more peaceful sleep without me moving around the kitchen.
I was looking out the kitchen
window and saw a deer peek around the Van…then another and another and more
were following…there were 4 …I told the boys that if they wanted to see the
deer that was by the driveway… Dan said get the gun…and steve didn’t realize
what I was saying…I repeated it, Dan thought I said there was a man walking up the driveway... they both got up to look.
they worked their
way down the driveway…it was so cool…what a wonderful start to the morning..
I hadn’t run for a few weeks
because of the loose bone chip in my left foot…it was feeling good …so I put on
my shoes and went out for a short run… pajama pants and all! Love it here… the
wild life sure won’t care.
It was a great morning for
running…except I ran west first and coming back facing east the sun was
really bright.
I went and got my kombucha making equipment from the bin under the trailer… I had packed my large kettle to boil
the water but remembered it was just 3 qts of water I needed so I filled my 2
qt kettle to the top and started it to boil…I would add the extra water after I
put it in the gal. jar… I got out my scobie and I was concerned it had gone bad
… I had closed the jar with a reg lid
not a canning lid and don't think it sealed it .. sure enough it had lost it’s potency… I messaged
Beth to bring me one… she was working on her taxes and hadn't left for here yet……I
got the tea steeping and cooling and it will be ready for the scobie when I get
it.
Steve and Danny went to Iron
River to pick up our mail… and get some wine, water, and filling the sun shower and
maybe some groceries.
I went exploring the East
Ravine going down behind the trailer…it is really steep… I made it down to the
big drop off…so beautiful and peaceful…I
prayed … thanking God for all his blessings… “..those who wait on the Lord with
have renewed strength”… Isaiah 40:31 and I do
I feel my strength has been renewed….
They got back and Beth was here… we sat outside ..another beautiful day…my nose really got burned...I got didn't have any sun screen either...will sure have to pick some up..who likes a bright red nose…
After Beth left I laid in the
hammock listening to my audio book…”The long ride” by Sparks…it is so good.
The guys enjoyed their
visiting outside…so nice …
It was Chicken wing night at
the Port…so Steve asked what time I wanted to go… he told Dan I like to eat earlier than he does…6 to some
people is late…but all a matter of perspective.
I got ready and we got their
a little after 5… Dan and I ordered the
wings and Steve had a sirloin … the wings
were all you can eat..but when they came with 6 on the plate and they
were so large it was equivalent to ½ a chicken… so good…we got coleslaw and a
baked potato…$7.95… it was great…came home with 2 to eat tomorrow.. as we got
in the van Dan and Steve were arguing on who
the young waitress liked better… couple of old fools…”no she liked
me did you see how she catered to
me?’…oh no she liked me she was smiling and flirting with me”…it was really funny..
Beth had told us there were 3
forest fires on Sunday…one in Port Wing
in the Boreal Forest by the Marina…we had
to drive by and take a look…they got it contained and only a small strip was
chared… we drove down to the marina and then over to Quarry beach…the water was
so high…it was just a foot from the path to the parking lot…hope it goes down
so people can enjoy the beach.
We got home and visited
awhile but everyone was tired from being outside all day.
Another great day on White
Birch Rd.
