April 14, 2015 Dan's delivery
. Joyce had sent me the VS from Isaiah 40:31 “But those who
wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings
like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not
faint.”
This
vs I held close since hearing the news
of the latest extension being requested I have had a hard time not falling
apart.
It is amazing how your mind can
go wacky and you have to rein it in and get control… this isn’t the end of
the world…we have been reassured that the loan is viable and will go through…
be confident that the right decision was to grant the extension …
trust in the Lord that he is leading us… or at least I am…Steve I don’t know who
he trusts…maybe me and in that he is trusting the Lord??
I
could tell that Steve wanted to leave yesterday…we were waiting for the papers
to come for us to sign… I told him at noon that any later maybe we should just
leave tomorrow. We signed them at
3:30… he said we could be ready to leave by 4 but left it up to me…I thought
about it and said no lets wait until tomorrow…then I asked him … you are the
one driving if you want to leave today let’s do it… he said No, he didn’t care.
The
next morning I was up at 4:30am… figuring our normal routine for our departure
day. I would have a leisurely time before Steve got up and got packing. He never was in a rush so I was surprised to
see him up and showered at 5:30..I asked what time he wanted to leave and he
said as soon as I got the cooler packed… so I got dressed and started packing the cooler… last night
when I went to put on my pj’s I was surprised to see my suitcase had been taken
already to the car… so luckily I still had some clothes not packed I could put
on… We were on the road by 6:05… a new record!
I
would have always preferred to leave earlier than our 9am…so this was nice..
We
got to see a beautiful sunrise…the traffic was not bad at all.
We
got to Foley picked up some snacks… then planned to stop at the junk store in
Mora but it wasn't open yet.
So
on we went…I wasn’t hungry so passed Hinckley and kept on driving… we arrived
at our home on White Birch at a little after 11.
Steve
went and got the mower with the cart and checked out the ground by the shed to
see where it was dry for Dan to drive when he arrived with our stuff.
He
pulled in around 2… he was limping when he got out of the truck…I was a
concerned but he told me the truck is a very uncomfortable ride for him…and he
would work it out just needed to move a bit.
Patty
and Rex stopped by…she said it was time for a class of wine. We had a nice visit and Murphy was a nice
neighbor to Rex…
After
Patty left the guys decided it was best to get the trailer and truck unloaded
so they headed for the shed. I walked
over and opened the door…Steve had been busy rearranging things and raking up
leaves and debris on the floor.
I
thought Dan could drive closer but Steve said it was too wet…it didn’t look
like it to me… but I trust his judgement.
We
got things put away and I walked back…I was going back to look for a spot for
the trail cam and I saw they were out with shovels by the truck…oh oh…Dan was
stuck.
I
went over to add some muscle to the pushing… his truck was sinking in the clay…
After
some more shoveling Dan was going to give it one last try… and low and behold
he got it out.
We
came back and were sitting outside…what a beautiful day and evening it
was…I did get sun burned though…I kept
moving my chair to get my legs out of the sun ..but Steve told me my face was
all red… oh great… more wrinkles.
Patty
had mentioned it was Taco night at the Port Bar
…at the time the guys thought it sounded good…but when I mentioned it
again Steve said why don’t we go get hot dogs at the store…I told him it was
High warning for fires here…so I decided to go in and defrost the lamb chops
and hamburger patties …I started the grill and got it going.
I
put the asparagus, Rod our neighbor had given me , in tin foil and put it on the
grill… it worked out good and was a great supper.
The
sun went down and it got instantly cold out…so we went inside, wasn’t long and
we were all tired and ready to hit the hay.
