April 5th Easter

The Closing was set for April 1 but the paper work hasn’t gotten back so it has been changed to on or before April 15th… this was good for us but not the buyers who are coming from an apt.  I hope they were able to extend their lease for the interim.
We had 2 wks to load the trailer which should have been more than enough time… except for Steve being so methodical had to measure each box and piece of furniture to utilized every inch of space.  I was very impressed as we lifted the mattress on end and with a piece of cardboard in the last 6” of space left and I held it in place as Steve closed the door.

I was very impressed with my husband…I told him he should go into the moving business… then again not everyone has the time when moving to be so exact!  He did give me the “look”!
I went to the Easter Vigil at 8PM…Mary picked me up and Tammy was there...the 3 of us sit together often at Mass…so it was wonderful my last Easter at St Anastasia we were together.  My friend, Cathie’s future daughter in law was being Confirmed, with 2 others . I was happy to be there for that also.  I love the Easter Vigil…the church completely dark and the fire starting in the back the church, the Easter candle is lighted and carried to the Altar and the servers light their hand held candles and got to the ends of each pew and light the person on the ends candle and all the candles everyone is holding are lighted … slowly the whole church is bright with the lights from all our candles …we hold them up high…”The light of the world has Risen!”
Steve watched the Wisconsin vs Kentucky game…I him not to tell me who won, I wanted to watch it …which wasn’t going to happen before I heard the outcome anyway, so I made him tell him!  Go Wisconsin… it was sad to hear what bad sports Kentucky were…shame on them!
I did pick Duke as the winner in my Bracket… Steve was surprised but I have loyalty to Duke..my friend, Dar’s son, and daughter-in-law,  got their Doctorates from there…great kids!
We planned to load the Van the night before but of course that didn’t happen… but we were still on the road by 8:15…
We were 6 miles out of town and Steve realized he forgot the lawnmower battery and the 2 sleds we use to haul things to the trailer… I told him to turn back but he blew it off… we stood in the garage looking around for what else to take too… I think the stress got to him!    We did get a good portion of belongings in the van so our last trip everything left should comfortable fit in the 2 vehicles.
It is a beautiful Easter Sunday… memories of the Easters we had at the Farm… the baby lambs were such a treat… what would we do without our memories?  Now on to  the making of  new ones!
We stopped in Foley for snacks…I figured we would not be stopping for lunch so I got some extras… I was surprised when Steve took the road to Hinckley instead of 35… Cassidy’s was open … we stopped…I had a turkey sandwich and Steve had a hamburger… I only ate ½ the sandwich and then went to let Murphy out to run….
I had a little nap and felt refreshed when Steve asked if I wanted to drive for about a ½ hr… I took over and drove all the way to Port Wing…the Store was closed for Easter…good for them!
We started unloading the van… Steve usually just gives me the cooler and dry goods, the suitcases, but this time he unloaded pretty much the whole Van.  I really wasn't in the mood to start finding places for everything...but there was plenty of room under the trailer for the totes from Wes… that will save room inside…I started rearranging things… Beth stopped in, she was stopping at the Store for grd beef for dinner, and was surprised they were closed…I had some patties I brought along and gave her 4… we will join them later for dinner…
After she left I went out and got the game camera.. since I wasn’t sure when we would be returning I write down it’s location on the notepad on the fridge.
The only pictures were of a coyote…first for that!
My stomach was not feeling the best…could be the mayo on my sandwich at lunch??  I took some Aloe Force… and rested a bit…I was chilled and put on my leggings under my jeans and we left for Beth and Rocky’s.. they have a Soapstone fireplace and it was nice and toasty inside…we had such a wonderful evening with them… and so wonderful to know many more to come... so happy we are making the move!

They gave us their extra mailbox ..it was even on a post…since our mail has already being forwarded and held until the 10th at the post office we need to get something in…Rocky did say the delivery guy would just toss it on the ground if there wasn’t anything to put it in!
Beth was glad that we are like to eat late… still our habit even with steve retired… my stomach was back to normal so I was able to really enjoy the wonderful meal!
We left after 9…it was really dark out…no moon… as we got on the top of the hill on Touve looking towards lake Superior it almost looked like a sunset…so I asked Steve to drive down to the marina… It must have been just the lights from Duluth… we need to look at a map and see what is directly across the lake from Touve…

So good to be Home…and it does feel like Home!
