Monday morning dawns..April 6th
I slept really peacefully.. got up after 6.
Beth ground some of the coffee she had found..the brand is Cameron and the flavor was Wood and water... can't wait to try it...Since my BP is down I enjoy a cup or 2 a day of coffee.
Steve got up and coffee was ready...I made breakfast and saved some of the bacon for Beth ...but she text and was running late so wouldn't be stopping. Steve and I shared the rest of the bacon.
we needed to go to the Post Office in Port Wing and pick up our mail that was being saved there for us. I kind of jumped the gun on forwarding it. It is a small PO with just one lady working there... she was super nice. We asked if we could have our mail continued to be held until we are able to get the mailbox up. There was some of Beth's mail in ours..which is no big deal ...she said she would whip Ron with a wet noodle for not paying attention to the addresses. Ron must be the mail sorter!
we were stopping at the wine/grocery store and got a message from Beth saying she was the only one at the work site and if we planned to go to Iron River we should stop and see it...it is a log cabin that they are putting on a big addition...I text'd back and told her where we were...she called and we got directions. Steve made some comment about woman not good at giving directions... they add too much information according to him.
I directed him right to the place...

It is a one room log cabin that they are putting on an addition, it has a beautiful view of the Iron River..so private and peaceful!
quite the addition...they left the light placements up to her ..she suggested they put in a tunnel skylight in the kitchen also putting a light in it...which they did... they were going to put regular siding on the addition but the contractor talked them into finishing it with the logs... which will look perfect.
We left Beth so she could get back to work and headed home...Steve missed the turn to get back to Hwy A ...I should have said something...naughty of me...but as he kept going I did tell him we would run into hwy 13...out of our way but we were seeing new scenery and it was beautiful!
it was a quiet afternoon got a nap in...Beth mentioned she needed a grass clipper to cut around her Crocus...she had been afraid they had died off...but there they were beneath the tall grass. I went out and found a pair I had bought at the flea market Corny weekend...they really were dull but I know Rocky will get them sharpened razor sharp! I do have an extra pair of hand ones from my Mom and one from the Farm that I thought she might want instead..so i walked out to the shed...just as I got it unlocked Bonnie pulled in, she must have gotten off work early..I have a set of size 10 sock needles for her.
I walked back and Murphy didn't even bark at her... just ran up to greet her! She gave me a hug and welcomed me as a Port Winger! I showed her where the house was going to go ... and she noticed the garden plot all ready to plant!
we went inside and wasn't long and Beth pulled in... Bonnie was telling Beth the news from the Fishery...they hired 2 more people so Mondays there aren't as long... she was happy when she got to work to do the orders because they told her they got a new computer...she was excited until they told her nothing had been entered in it...so she had to do that before she did the orders!
After Bonnie left Beth helped me find a radio station that we can tune in to the Wisc/Duke game tonight. In my Bracket I had picked Duke over Wisc... Steve was surprised but I still feel a connection to Duke with my friend Dar's son and daughter in law having gone there... we also walked back to the shed to lock it and check for the other clippers...they weren't there.
Beth was tired and left for home...she was happy with the clippers and knew Rocky would get right on it sharpening them.
I had told Steve we should make a quick visit over to see Carl and Patty... Patty had gone to bed to take a nap before the game... Carl is such a great neighbor ..told us that if there was anything we needed to just come over and go in the barn and help ourselves... we did tell him we would be needing him to move the trailer up in front of where the house will be... but that won't be for awhile, and of course he was happy to be able to do that.
When got home Beth messaged me on what stations for sure she found that I could tune into the game.
I tried them but they weren't coming in that clear...so I just scanned and did find one that came in clear. It is not as much fun listening as it is watching a game...we listened until 1/2 time. it sure was an exciting game!
we will find out in the morning who won!
