The night before I dug up a
day lilly to transplant on our land and give a part to Beth. It was hidden in
the back of the landscaping so it wouldn’t be missed in the scheme of things
there. When we moved to 5th
Ave the back yard was bare except for the rock edging. We were so blessed to have the skills of Sue
Hammar to design our landscaping. She
was one of my spinning students when I had my shop. She would not charge me and even gave us
wholesale prices on all the plants. She
said she really appreciated all the time I took in teaching her to spin, and
really enjoyed doing it.
I hope the people that buy our house will
enjoy it and not dig everything up, but it will be theirs to do what pleases them.
Steve started packing the van, it was raining
but the back hatch of the Van fit perfectly to the entrance of the garage so
he didn’t get wet.
I did some rearranging while
he was getting himself ready …and then we were off …9am.
It drizzled some but stopped
by the time we got to Dassel.
We stopped at Foley and then
Mora. They had a different leather
recliner/lounger in a chocolate brown …it was really nice. Too bad we aren’t ready to purchase one yet.
We got to Cassidy’s at noon
and the parking lot was almost empty. We
thought maybe it was closed. But it
wasn’t …there were quite a few people inside… and more came after we sat down.
I didn’t feel like the buffet
and went for the grilled chicken.. took awhile to come…but was good.. Steve was loading up on the buffet so I
wasn’t rushed eating.
I started driving a few miles
in on 23…Steve said he just needed a half hour nap… I drove all the way to Port
Wing…he was sleeping so good I let him sleep.
The extension to the driveway was in..it really does
look nice and will sure help us not get stuck in the winter and wet spring.
We unpacked…always a chore.. not too many flies in
here...
I was looking for the Lithium batteries I brought for
the live cam…I had left the bag in the Van the day before and it wasn’t
there..Steve didn’t think he took it out…but I know I didn’t
. oh well, they
will have them in Iron River.
Steve went and got the mower and we mowed.. It sure
looks nice. The front part of the the
land got mowed too.. not sure if Carl ended up mowing the east side or the guy just cut it and would be coming back to bale it.
I went and checked for messages on my
phone..unfortunately the screen is going dark and I couldn’t read it…I guess I
will stop at the Verizon store in Duluth this week. I didn’t get any textsbut I wouldn’t have been able to
read it anyway!
There was a pretty young gal in a long sundress
walking on the road…she had her purse with her...we waved at each other…wonder where
she was going… couldn’t have been from the Port bar…too far away.
I checked the apple trees on the way back.. the ones
by the driveway don’t have many apples.
Even patty’s favorite wasn't too full.. but there are a couple that have plenty and
with 20 trees I am sure I will have enough for some pies!
Steve was setting out the lawn chairs and table.. so
we sat outside.. just a beautiful evening.
I brought out the Off "Clip on" I found at Mora. It was a bargain price of $5.. I got it going
and it did seem to be working.
We took a walk and looked at trees that needed to be
cut down. Steve has plans! Man and his chainsaw!
It is suppose
to get down to the low 50’s tonight so we closed up some of the
windows.
We crawled into bed and then I thought we
should probably put the old sleeping bag on top of the bed. So we all got up and I got it out from the
compartment underneath, got it situated and we all crawled back in…
Steve made the comment that
every time we come it gets more perfect!
