November 17th
The weather this fall has been beautiful...60's and 70's. But of course being Minnesota we know cold and snow are coming!
This week the normal temps have arrived. I got up at 5am and cleaned the State Farm Building and it was 12 degrees...coldest morning this fall! It didn't feel that cold to me..maybe because the humidity was low? don't know..
It was the short week at State Farm... no vacuuming downstairs or washing the stairways so I got done quickly.
It didn't see to take us that long to get things together...not as panicked about forgetting something.
9:06am sun shining which always makes for good attitudes...we were off.
Steve needed to find a mailbox in St Cloud to mail a letter to General Mills Corporate office..something about setting up the schedule so they avoid paying OT...always the activist!
We made a short stop in Foley..then at Mora at their Radio Shack..we checked out prices of cell phone boosters ...$400...guess we'll think about that one!
Next stop Hinckley for lunch..Steve had 2 big helping's at the salad bar!! Diane our favorite waitress waited on us...she is always so cheery..and she remembered Steve used cream in his coffee..a good sign of a good waitress!!
While he was finishing his plate, I went and let Murphy out to run...when I came back in the lady next to our table commented on our nice dog...we had a chat...she had 4 dogs, 2 papions, 1 shitsu and a Pomeranian.. a widow from Hinckley..lived in the UP of Michigan ..she and her husband traveled allot..then after he died she moved back to Hinckley...reunited with a grandchild after 18yrs.. she had seen us in there before and wanted to know if we would be there Sunday...I think she was lonesome... we usually never stop on our way home we are always in a hurry to get home.
Steve made it to Danbury and asked if I felt like driving..I ended up driving the whole way ..mainly because I had to go to the bathroom and didn't just want to stop anywhere to change places...so made it to "the Store" in Port Wing...
The flies weren't as bad in the trailer..swept up and we unloaded..got the gas on ..electric... it was 30 in there..
I had gotten the soles ready to make Isabella Brye's baby gift...so had worked on them on the trip..finished one when we got here..and the 2nd one before we went to bed...they make up pretty fast and are so cute..little Mucklucks..I used what I had left of the Mohair from the Brye Farm..Isabella turns 1 on the 28th so it will be her 1st Birthday present! I brought more sheep skin with so plan to make more...
Steve was still full from lunch, no surprise... I heated up the left over pizza from the night before...he went to bed.
We brought along our new sleeping bags and are sleeping on top of the bed... should be quite cozy.
We did run the furnace for awhile but what ever idea Steve had to fix the furnace didn't work..so he plans to pull the fan out and work on it at home..(never got done) .it would be nice to have it working quietly... I was in bed by 8.
