March 24th

Happy Birthday to me!!
I got up at 4:30am had a cup of tea and then realized I was still tired so went back to bed until 6:30..

Finished the 2nd ballet slipper and it didn't match the first one I made.. I had purchased a 2nd skein of yarn and it was a different thickness so I took it apart and went down a size and 1/2 in needles...seems to be matching better...

we went into Corny for lunch at the VI (Village Inn)... I had Hawaiian Chicken with homemade potato chips!  after we ate we went down to the lake ...the sun had come out and there was a slight fog... it looked so pretty..Murphy ran into the water and quickly came out... a little cold even for him.  He kept wanting us to throw the stick for him...he has a short memory.

We then drove over to Susan's office..we had seen her on the street visiting with a group of people...it looked like a serious conversation so we didn't want to interrupt her there... Steve laid down on her couch ... Susan and I had a nice visit and then we heard Steve snoring... good grief... Susan had work she needed to get done so I woke him up and we left... we drove by Ray's place (Rocky's Dad)..Rocky wasn't there ..they close on the 15th so he has been busy cleaning it up..
When we got home Steve continued his nap...I finished the slipper and then decided to go and visit Patty...I left Murphy home and I was glad I did because her 2 daughters were there and one of them had a Pit bull who came to greet me with Rex, patty's dog..it was as big or bigger than Rex who is a chocolate Lab..luckily the pit bull was friendly to people...they agreed it was a good thing Murphy stayed home.
It was nice meeting her daughters.  2 of her grandchildren were there also ...they were having fun playing in the puddles!!

When I got home we listened to an interview with Amy Sedaras on her "crafty Book"... Crafting for poor people... she is so hilarious!!  Beth and I used to watch her on "Strangers with Candy"...a really funny off the wall show...it was so kooky!  Amy Sedaras is one person I would enjoy hanging out with.

Beth and Rocky were coming around 4:30 or 5...at 5:30 I climbed the ladder to give them a call and a voice mail came in ..it was from Beth..they were going to be a little late..Rocky brought home some Rose Bushes and Lillie's from his Dad's land and they wanted to get them into the ground.

I started the baked potatoes in the oven and went for walk down the East Ravine... Beth got there and said Rocky was cleaning up and would ride over on the 3 wheeler.. I showed her the spot in the ravine I wanted to have my Grotto and she said that Rocky thought i would be great to make a trail around the ravine..
She told me Bonnie was surprised that I would climb that ladder because I looked so fragile...really??  Beth told her "you should see her climbing around those ravines!
I never thought of myself as  fragile...Bonnie is a Bear hunter so I guess I do look fragile to her..

Rocky arrived soon after and Steve brought out his gun "Maggie" for him to try...Rocky had brought his 9mm automatic ...they shot the guns  and then walked to the car and got Steve's new chain saw to play with..Beth and I got the food ready and Steve started the grill..She brought the grill kabob baskets I had given her for Christmas and I started loading them with the Marinated Lamb..I had skewers too and loaded them with Shrimp. Beth cut the baby belle mushrooms w/ zucchini on Skewers and then she put asparagus in a separate foil pouch..

Rocky got the bonfire going.. Beth and I worked together keeping the kabob's turning..
we ate by the fire...everything tasted wonderful!  Rocky hasn't eaten allot of Lamb and of course Beth was raised on it and loves it...she asked him what he thought... he said "OK"... which means I can take it or leave it...

It was a perfect night ...the stars were out and the fire was so nice..
Beth made a carrot Cake for my Birthday..I can't remember the last time I had a cake on my Birthday...maybe one  my 40th when friends threw a party for me... it tasted so good..cream cheese frosting..they sang, or rather Beth sang, Happy Birthday.

Rocky left around 10 and soon after Beth left.. she wanted to help me clean up but it is a one person kitchen ..
the sky had gotten cloudy but later Steve called from the bedroom that the stars were out again... we love our window that we can look at the sky from the head of the bed.

I soon joined him and Murphy..it was just a perfect Birthday!
