January 6th Friday & 7th
Murphy slept all night on his sheepskin under the rise of the recliner..he came in to the bedroom at 4:30 and Steve put him on the bed between our sleeping bags...I soon got up...not because of that but I was wide awake.
I waited until around 8 ...climbed the ladder and called Beth..she was working around home but came and joined us at Ruxy's for breakfast.
After breakfast we came back here after breakfast and visited awhile..Rocky was working in Duluth with Roland cutting branches and trees on the Campus, afterwards he was going snowboarding at Spirit Mountain.
Beth visited awhile and then went home but is coming back for Supper.
We went to Iron River ..stopped to get another key made for Beth...for some reason the keys for the lock on the trailer is difficult to duplicate.
We got some groceries and headed for home..we were just past Sorensen Road and Steve pointed out an Eagle on the side of the road...it was feeding on a deer carcass.. He wished he had a hack saw with but turned around to get a better look at it so he and Rocky could go back later and remove it and when we got close he realized it was just bones from the carcass ...their were Raven's and a total of 3 Eagles feeding on it...they flew off into the trees and one Eagle was perched on the top of a Pine Tree...I tried to get a picture but couldn't get a good enough shot...
When we returned I took a nap and when I woke Steve was just coming in from a walk...I thought that was a great idea so Murphy and I went out to look around the land.. we went behind our property to Mikes Land ...nothing too interesting... no "little people under the ground" had visited that fall.
I then decided to check out the Ravine.. the east side looked too difficult so I walked down the driveway and took pictures of the shadows of the sun going down.
.we walked over to the other side of our land..took a movie of Murphy jumping through the tall grass .. the ravine over there was easier to maneuver, I started for home through there..took a picture of the fence made from tree roots...very interesting..
got back and made the hot dish Steve suggested for supper..
Beth bot here around 6...we ate and then Beth and I played Rubekub..she almost wooped me good but the last game she got caught with alot of points so I only lost by 4.
Itw as a record 45 degrees out today..wow!
Beth left around 9:30..when we got into bed we heard it raining...a strange sound for January!
Saturday we got up and left by noon for Duluth to finish out the weekend with Lynn...so happy she likes us!!
