Corny Weekend-Saturday
I slept fitfully and finally with dawn breaking I got up and fixed coffee for the coffee drinkers and knitted. People started stirring around 7:30...they were happy to have their coffee ready.
Lance and Virgene arrived and Steve got busy cutting the veggies for his "perfect omelets". He didn't get the water on soon enough so we had to wait a bit to get started.
Joyce and mark got here after 11..we had just finished our omelets which were a hit!
we headed to Corny day around 12..Steve had to go the alternate Route then everyone else...but we did meet up at the Flea Market.
A few things were missing this year .. the tie dyed t-shirts and the $5 sunglasses..
Beth got off work from Ehler's so we all got in the line for the Fish on a stick .. they came and told us they were probably not going to have enough -- so some of us decided no to take the chance ..and went back to the Flea Market.
Steve went and took his Bath in the Lake..he uses Castile Soap... no chemicals!
Ron was "Pizzy" and wanted to go back to the trailer ( his choice of words) so he and Mary went back... the ones who stayed in line did get their Fish on a stick and said it was wonderful...so next year we for sure will start waiting in line earlier next year!
Joyce wanted to see Beth and Rocky's place so we stopped there... Joyce was so excited about everything she saw ... we all got excited too...her energy is contagious!
We got back and Virgene and Lance got back with some White Fish dip and Smoked Fish.. they stayed for awhile but needed to get on the road for home...
Rocky wanted set up the Croquet set ... Rocky didn't know there was a set pattern for the hoops so he just randomly set them out... it made for a fun game... Rocky won!
After we ate the BBQ'd Pork Chops I had gotten from the Store -- Rocky started the bonfire..
earlier Steve had pointed out a dead tree that he didn't know if it was too rotten to use for a fire- and said maybe it would be take too much time to cut it down...Rocky said "no, that's what I do".. Rocky got busy with the chain saw and Steve went and got the lawn mower rode over to the shed to get the wagon and by the time he got to Rocky ...Rocky had the tree down, and the wood stacked ready for him... in fact he had most of it loaded into the wagon by the time Steve got off the mower... Steve couldn't believe it!!
Our 1st fire on White Birch Rd was Magnificent! it was enjoyed by Ron, Mary, Beth, Rocky, Mark, Joyce and of course Steve and Me!
we were serenaded by the "Flagg River Wolf Pack... eery...
Mark and Joyce had to leave early in the morning os the left for their cabin in Port Wing.. they stayed in the same cabin Lance and Virgene stayed in so Virgene clued them in on the bed and not to be afraid when they sat on the Toilet it is tippy but safe!
A great Saturday night!!
