October 12th

It is 60 inside and 22 out side... with the fireplace heater we put Beth's space heater in the bedroom and it was very comfortable!

Steve asked if I wanted to go to Ruxy's for breakfast and of course I said "yes"!

Laura was busy in the kitchen so I didn't get a chance to say Hello.. we have heard some negative talk about Ruxy's but we have always had good food there..we stopped at The Store and picked up a few things... Judy was working, of course it is Friday!

Steve worked on the furnace and I knitted and napped...Joyce and Mark were coming around 4..

The sun was warm and we sat outside..had to move the chairs behind the trailer out of the wind...at 1:30 I gave Beth a call... Rocky answered..they had lost interest in doing the trail and were hauling wood... then he told me that the job fell through and he wasn't leaving after all... I felt so bad for him..all this time of indecision on whether to take the job or not.. quiting his job and then at the last minute the contract was given to another crew... what a disappointment....
I told him we are going to The Port for Pizza and I would call them with the time and they could join us.

At 4:30 Joyce and Mark weren't here yet...Steve said they would arrive at 5:10 - 5:20... at 5:10 I noticed a voice mail on my phone...so I took off in the car to listen and I got service at the end of the driveway..It was from Joyce..they had a late start because of their kitten being sick...and had to drop it of at daughter Nicole's and would be there around 5..as I was turning around to go back home I saw a car coming ..it was them..we got up to the trailer and inside ...it was 5:20!

Joyce wanted to do some hiking...so I took her to the other side of the E Ravine...she was game for returning through the ravine...which is always a challenge!!  We made it back and the guys were having beers..I put out the sweet hot pepper garlic dip with crackers..Joyce brought some pita chips which were great with the dip..around 7 we left for the Port.

I was ready to give Beth a call and realized I forgot my phone...so I borrowed Steve's...he didn't have her home # in it...luckily I remembered it ... my skill at remembering # from my "Ma Bell" days is still with me!

They were tired and still kind of down so didn't feel like coming out.

Joyce and Mark decided on the White Fish and Steve and I shared a small Pizza...they loved the White Fish and the Pizza was as good as always.

We had a fun visit and Joyce told how they met...it was sweet to hear... so wonderful to still feel the excitement and Love as if it were yesterday!  32 yrs they have been married!

We decided to meet tomorrow around 10 at the Beach Resort where they were staying..I guess the Beach has a motel too they are in #2..hope it's better than the cabins we reserved and then took one look and walked out.. when we brought Inky up there the October before she died.
