Sept. 23rd.
I woke up at 4:15 but thought it just was too early to get up...fell back asleep and woke at 7:15..haven't slept that late in a long time!
I went out and planted the Yellow Juniper by the electrical box transformer.
We waited until 11 and Beth didn't come so we headed for Corny- we stopped at her place. She was busy cleaning..Rocky was over at his Dad's trailer taking the valuables to store at their place.
She was feeling so very sad...Ray had a brain hemorrhage Sept 12th and was at St Mary's in Duluth .. his prognosis was not good... he was unresponsive... Rocky's sister Catrina was coming back with her husband they live close to Madison WI, and will haul somethings back...
We went on to Corny.looking forward to the Art Crawl...the town was deserted... stopped at the VI (Village Inn) for lunch...we asked Wade where everyone was, he said the Art Crawl was last weekend and the summer was over... he gave me the WI password so I could get on the Internet...had a great lunch of white fish sandwich..Steve had soup...
We stopped at Halverson's and got he fish dip I forgot last visit for Ron to give Terry Erickson...Steve took the fall for that...
Then we went to Sawgrass and Susan was working...we spent the afternoon visiting with her... Susan is the realtor that helped us find our place...we had great times looking at properties... she is the greatest!!
When we got back I took a little nap...then decided to make the apple dessert for Beth and Rocky.
It was getting late and I was wondering if Beth may have decided to go along with Rocky to see his Dad but around 7 she came up the drive.
Rocky didn't get back from Corny until 3:30 so he had just left for Duluth. he will stay on Max's Barge, Jane and Max offered it to them to stay at while they were with Ray... such wonderful people.. the barge is in the warehouse area .. the view is fantastic and it has been a real refuge for all of them...
Steve went out and started a fire and Beth and I started getting the food ready...she brought some of the corn she had grown...it was "red"...she assured me that it would turn the normal yellow when it was cooked...and it did...
We went out and roasted our hotdogs...going back into the trailer was difficult being the moon was not out...it was really dark!
after we ate we looked at the constilations..trying to find the Big Dipper... Steve pointed out the Milky Way and explained it to us...
Beth left ...Steve went to bed and I got the kitchen cleaned up before I "hit the hay"...
Good night!
