They delivered the well driller the night before they started drilling... it turned out this rig was purchased from Barricks in Hutchinson back in the 70's!! Isn't that amazing that someone is actually using something that old!!! Plus to have that connections with Hutchinson too...
I am so excited... we have only been here a month but seems like everything is delayed... if we had only known better we would have started the process before the closing of our house...but we were nervous about doing that...boy were we wrong on that... another thing we should have hired someone to do the contracting for us...it was really stressful on both of us...especially Steve... since I am writing this not during the experience you may not get the true frustrations that occurred plus I don't really want to relive that part...
the sun is shinning and more trucks arrive... they are from Ashland.

It was pretty exciting when they started setting things up! |
|
was it noisy when the drilling started and it went on for several days! |
|
it was a tedious job... they pumped up all this red clay and then dumped it out of that square troth ... will they ever hit water? |
|
and finally water.... made me nervous when I first saw it was red... but I was excited we hit water...135ft... |
|
Melin the owner wrote down all the stats! He smiled at me and told me we had a free flowing well...I didn't exactly know what that was but I knew it was something good! |

Look at that clear water! unfortunately the video I made got deleted... they fixed something up so we could get water from our well even before the house was up...was that a luxury to not have to go 15 miles to either Cheese Factory Rd or Corny to get water... so much we take for granted ...but our 6 mos in the camper sure was a good reminder!
Checking on my trusty Iphone I found the video!!
I can't get the video to work...hopefully it will when I post it...it says I need adobe Flash...but I am sure I have it... it is a short video but so exciting to see the rushing water!
