Sept 23rd..

The next morning I decided to go out and pick an apple from each of the trees and take pictures of them.  There were 5 on the west side of the driveway and 10 on the East side...I had taken pictures of 15 trees, I was sure I counted 17 must be hiding somewhere....

Beth got there and we went to Iron River..Dad had thought that we could get an adapter to attach the antena to the radio...after the grocery store we went across the  street to the coolest hardware store Tj's... we were also  looking for the antenna wire that you used years ago for your tv...1/2 flat brown with 2 wires on each side... the gal there didn't think they had anything like that... we kept looking around and found the right adapter and then the owner of Tj's came up and said he thought he had the wire we were looking for...he brought us over to a shelf where he had odds and ends of left over wires and there he had about 5-7 ft of it.. we took all of it... Beth loves that store because he keeps everything and sells it for the price back when he purchased it..never inflating it to today's prices.

We stopped at Pistol Pete's so Steve could check out guns..he is looking for a Ruger convertible.. they didn't have anything on hand and the salesman was starting to look up prices for Steve and got sidetracked by another customer so we left.

We left for home ..Beth had an Electrical job in Corny so she left.. I got the chili heating and Steve hooked up the antenna...it worked perfectly!!

I went out and picked apples from the "key" tree....wanted to try Mary's apple dessert... a little different twist on apple crisp.. needed 4 cups of apples... one apple was 1c..had 5 picked so put the other one in for good measure!!
Got the oven lit...I am getting pretty confident in lighting the pilot and oven...my Mom was very nervous using her gas stove and those memories haunt me sometimes... doesn't help with Steve saying .."look out~don't blow your head off"....

Steve ate and then laid  down..the apple dessert was baked, it was so warm inside I went outside and read...fell asleep  woke up chilled...

I found the oven does run a little hot..I should get a thermometer to check it for sure.

Rocky and Beth were maybe coming for a bonfire...they didn't make it so I told Steve that WE could have a fire just the 2 of us... so we walked over to the shed and carried back a few logs...I got it started as well as I was able to  ..I was proud of it. Steve had to "go to the Ball field" and I told him to stop at Patty and Carls and invite them to join us..

When he got back he said that Carl wouldn't be home until later but Patty sounded like she might come over..but he wasn't sure...it wasn't long and we saw a 4 wheeler heading down the drive way...she brought some wood too!!
It was great  getting to know her better... she left around 9 ...I fixed some chili for us and brought it out to the fire..It was fun eating by the fire...
when we went in Steve went right to bed and I read my Michael Kruger book...

At around 3:30 we heard wolves howling...sounded like they were right outside the trailer.
